FluoroSpun®

CCG’s FluoroSpun® staple fibers and yarns are uniquely engineered for thermoplastic composite pre-pregs. These staple fibers function as binding agents in glass fiber or carbon fiber-based composite materials. FluoroSpun® fibers and yarns are used in the design and manufacture of gaskets, seals and expansion joints, and other fluid handling products.

Designed to withstand the most challenging high-temperature environments, highly acidic and caustic fluids/liquids and gases, CCG’s fluoropolymer-based FluoroSpun® fibers are extruded, stretched, crimped, and then chopped to various lengths. In addition, CCG’s FluoroSpun® fibers can be converted into nonwoven felts and veils.

FluoroSpun® is available as continuous multi-filament yarns (textured, flat or entangled), custom-blended, or as straight or crimped staple fiber. Melt-processable fluoropolymers and perfluoropolymers currently processed and converted into staple fiber at CCG include Fluorinated Ethylene Propylene (FEP), Perfluoroalkoxy Alkanes (PFA), and Methyl Fluoroacetate (MFA).
