Engineering Resins
PEEK and PAEK
Polyaryletherketone (PAEK) and Polyether Ether Ketone (PEEK) are families of thermoplastic polymers used in engineering applications. These polymer resins are semicrystalline thermoplastics with excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties with high temperature stability. PAEK and PEEK are high-performance resins used at CCG in the extrusion/production of filament and staple fiber. CCG is also experimenting with the chemical foaming of these polymers.
PEKK
Polyether Ketone Ketone (PEKK) is a semi-crystalline thermoplastic resin with high heat, chemical and mechanical load resistance. PEKK can be used at CCG in the extrusion of filament and staple fiber.
PSU
Polysulphone (PSU) resins are a family of high-performance thermoplastics known for their toughness and stability at high temperatures. PSU can be used in specialty applications at CCG in the production of a customer polymer compound or in an extruded cable component, filament or staple fiber. CCG is also exploring the chemical foaming of this polymer resin family.
PEI
Polyetherimide (PEI) is an amorphous thermoplastic resin with characteristics similar to PEEK but lower in impact strength and operating temperature. PEI resin is used at CCG in the production of filament and staple fiber.
PPS
Polyphenylene Sulfide (PPS) resin is an engineering polymer consisting of aromatic rings linked by sulfides. Synthetic fiber, textiles, filter fabric, specialty membranes and gaskets are derived from this polymer because it resists chemicals and thermal attack. PPS can be used at CCG in the production of filament and staple fiber. CCG is also experimenting/exploring the chemical foaming of PPS, and PPS resin can also be compounded by CCG.
PES
Polyether Sulfone (PES) resin is an amorphous, high heat-resistant thermoplastic polymer resin similar to PSU. PES is very tough and exhibits exceptional stability at high temperatures. PES is known for having good electrical properties, chemical resistance and low moisture adsorption. PES is used at CCG in the production of filament and staple fiber, and can also be used in polymer compounding.
TPU
Thermoplastic urethane (TPU) resin are thermoplastic elastomers that offer many properties including elasticity, transparency, oil resistance, and abrasion resistance. TPU is used at CCG for the formulation and mixing of products in the Cablethane™ family of compounds (Black and Natural available) designed for wire and cable applications.
