PE
Polyethylene (PE) is the most common thermoplastic resin family. PE comes in many forms such as low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE). CCG uses PE in the production of extruded components for cable, and also in the manufacture of specialty cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) compounds.
PP
Polypropylene (PP) is the second most common thermoplastic resin family. PP belongs to the group pf polyolefins and is partially crystalline and non-polar. Its properties are similar to polyethylene but it is slightly harder and more heat-resistant. PP is used at CCG in the extrusion of cable components, and FRPP is used in the polymer compounding business segment.
PVC
Poly vinyl chloride (PVC) is another common thermoplastic resin used in at CCG in the extrusion of cable components such as tubing. PVC tubing is a popular choice for protecting, organizing and routing cables. PVC is flexible and resists heat, oil and abrasion.
EVA
Ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA) is a copolymer of ethylene and vinyl acetate. EVA is a family of tough resins that have good properties at low temperatures. EVA resins are used at CCG in the extrusion of cable components such as cross webs, and as a base polymer in wire and cable compounding.
