About Us
Cable Components Group, LLC (CCG) is a leading provider of components and compounds for the wire & cable and optical fiber industries, as well as yarn and nonwovens for high- temperature filtration, textiles and other uses. With 25 extrusion lines and four compounding lines, CCG growth can be attributed to its ability to produce crosswebs, tubes, insulation, jacketing and other materials that provide:
• Superior dielectric properties
• Thermal stability, even in high-temperature applications
• Outstanding flame-retardant and low-smoke properties
• Lighter weight through the use of chemical foaming technology
• Completely recyclable materials
At CCG, we like to say, “If you can draw it, we can make it.” We have, in fact, produced products from sketches that customers have provided on napkins and we still enable customers to submit drawings online.
CCG holds 26 patents and five registered trademarks. Its products are UL recognized and RoHS compliant, and have passed rigorous testing, such as the Steiner Tunnel test. CCG compounds and components for Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications meet the latest National Electric Code standards.
CCG is best known for its flagship FluoroFoam® product line. Using fluoropolymers (FEP, MFA, PFA), CCG produces foamable products that can be used in high-temperature applications while providing superior electrical performance. Its FluoroSpun® yarns are used in everything from optical fiber to high-temperature filtration systems.
Our History
Founded in 1999 and located in Pawcatuck, Connecticut, USA, Cable Components Group LLC (CCG) designs, engineers and manufactures extruded products for wire & cable, optical fiber, fiber optics and other industrial applications. CCG also manufactures specialty compounds based on fluoropolymers and engineering resins.
Legacy products range from cross-web designs to tubing, rods, and tapes. CCG’s engineers also apply their decades of industry experience toward the development of fluoropolymer-based compounds with better dielectric constants, enhanced thermal stability, and other application critical metrics requiring higher temperature ratings.
CCG will compound, toll-blend, reprocess, modify, and experiment with formulations and our in-house blending of resin, color and additives is both cost effective and most efficient for the customer. Custom compounding is a wise solution for complex, process-critical blending. With a range of Buss Kneader and Twin-Screw compounding equipment, CCG is equipped to handle its customers’ diverse compounding requirements.
CCG has over 20 of experience and expertise in polymer science, materials engineering, extrusion/processing of fluoropolymers, fire-retardant (FR) thermoplastics and other engineering resins into cable components, staple fibers and filaments, and coated yarns. CCG’s talented, multilingual staff of engineers, scientists, operators, and product developers have a wealth of experience and knowledge covering multiple business disciplines.
CCG designs and engineers custom formulations in the form of compounds, cable fillers such as tubes, tapes and rods, fibers and filaments. CCG is relied upon as a strategic partner by many global fiber optic cable cmanufacturers. With technological innovation in fluoropolymers such as PVDF, FEP, PFA, MFA, ETFE and ECTFE as well as technical prowess in other high-temperature engineering resins ranging from to PEEK to PEKK, PPS and PSU, CCG is unmatched in providing a combination of unique product performance, applied scientific expertise and engineering excellence.
CCG specializes in chemically foamable resin applications allowing customers to improve performance through its patented FluoroFoam® technology and patented profile designs. CCG is focused on compounding and the conversion of plastic resins with performance additives into technical compounds and customer-specific solutions. CCG offers its own proprietary product lines as well as custom mixing and toll compounding services.
Our Commitment
At CCG, we are committed to:
• Continuously developing new products and technologies, on our own or with appropriate partners.
• Protecting proprietary technologies developed with customers.
• Supplying, not competing with, our customers.
• On an ongoing basis, we will continue to:
• Produce and sell extruded components made from high-performance materials, including fluoropolymers (FEP, MFA, PFA, PVDF, ECTFE, ETFE), engineered resins (PEEK, PSU, PPSU, PES, PPS), and FR and LSHF polyolefins.
• Develop and produce fibers and yarns incorporating high-performance materials for specific needs and niche applications.
• Design novel multi-lobal, hollow, micro denier, surface-modified, tri-lobal and filled fibers that provide fabrics with anti-static, anti-microbial characteristics.
• Introduce new products based on our exclusive foamable-grade fluoropolymer compounding technology.
