Capabilities
COMPOUNDING
CCG’s unique compounding capabilities combine both high and low temperature resin capabilities with the finesse of Buss® Kneading technology and Inconel®/Hastelloy® fluoropolymer capable twin-screw compounding. Therefore, CCG offers a suite of potential solutions for your specific business need – from expert toll manufacturing to colored compounding.
CCG’s twin-screw compounding line is especially suited for chemically foamable high-temperature resins (e.g., ETFE, FEP, PFA, PEEK, and PEKK). It is capable of both powder and pellet handling using gravimetric feeding for fine process control of powder addition from 1%-60%. Additionally, CCG can utilize liquid injection ports that are well tailored for compounding cross-linkable additives.
CCG’s Buss® Kneading technology is capable of handling challenging compound formulations due to its flexibility in gravimetric feeding and its unique low-shear technology. It is suitable for PVDF, polyethylene, polypropylene, EVA and TPU type resins among others. With this low-shear capability, CCG can load resins to 65% + filler and maintain the material properties of sensitive additives. Similarly, to CCG’s twin screw capabilities, liquid injection for cross-linkable additives can also be utilized on the group’s Buss® Kneader equipment.
Between CCG’s twin-screw and Buss Kneading assets, CCG has a capacity of over 4 million lbs. of specialty compound annually, with an emphasis on small lot sizes/capabilities up to a full truckload.
