PAWCATUCK, Conn., Aug. 3, 2017 – Cable Components Group (CCG) announced today that it has named Charles M. Glew of Charlestown, R.I., to the new position of Technical Services Sales Engineer.
The position was created to support CCG customers with technical service and process engineering for a wide range of new compounds. Glew will participate in customer visits and processing trials, and will be part of the commercial team for CCG’s extruded products and compounds. He will also focus on advancing the lightweighting of CCG’s foamable compounds, including its patented FluoroFoam® and other engineered resins ranging from perfluoropolymers to polyolefins.
During three summers as an intern at CCG, Glew became proficient at operating extrusion lines that use chemically foamable materials, as well as extruding insulating perfluoropolymers over copper conductors. He also enhanced his extrusion capabilities in the material science lab at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, N.Y., while pursuing his engineering degree.
Glew previously was a NanoWave™ Operations Manager at ThermoAura, Inc., a nanomaterials and clean-energy company in Colonie, N.Y. Before that, he served as a representative in a Commercial Development Program at SABIC in Pittsfield, Mass. He earned both a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in technology commercialization from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, N.Y.
